Every year, from June 14th to 17th, Forio comes alive with a festival that combines spirituality, tradition, and fun.
Dedicated to San Vito, the city’s patron saint, this celebration represents a special moment for the local community and a unique experience for visitors.
San Vito, who lived between the 3rd and 4th centuries, was a young Christian who refused to renounce his faith during the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian, suffering martyrdom.
He is considered a symbol of protection and courage, and is traditionally invoked against illness and suffering.
Even today, in Forio, he is celebrated every year with great devotion, becoming the heart of one of the most important festivals on the island of Ischia.
An authentic experience
During the festival, you can witness:
• Evocative religious processions through the streets of the historic center
• Spectacular fireworks over the sea
